To Members and Devotees,

The Shrine will be celebrating Vesak for a period of 5 days from 5th May 2009 to 9th May 2009 (inclusive).

1 The Shrine will be closed from 20th April 2009 to 30th May 2009.

2 Flowers and fruits may be used as offerings. Members and patients who wish to have their offerings arranged by the Shrine are to proceed to the rear for their registration. A vegetarian dinner will be served on 9th May 2009. Those wishing to attend may register with the Shrine between 22th March 2009 and 19th April 2009.

3 Registration:
Please note that registration for fruits, healing/blessing, vegetarian gala, kwang-teng (oil-lamp procession) will be available on the following days:
22th March 2009
5th April 2009
19th April 2009 (last day)

Please register early to avoid last minute rush .

4 Kwang Teng procession will be held on 5th & 6th May 2009 (2 nights) and the Healing /Blessing session will be held on 7th & 8th May 2009 (2 nights). Those attending these sessions are requested to observe vegetarian diet at least 3 days before the event that you are participating, e.g. vegetarian diet begain on 3rd May for those participating in Kwang-teng on 5th May. Those who possess Buddha pendants are strongly encouraged to attend the Kwang-teng procession in person.

5 “Tan-kals” are to be presented to the Shrine for blessing on 19th April 2009 and collection will be on the same day.

6 Those who need to collect their offerings due to early departure, are required to make prior arrangement with the Shrine not later than 19th April 2009.

I need your help.

A couple of albums of photos from past MHBS celebrations popped up recently and I’ve uploaded some of the pictures to Flickr.

To be honest, I don’t know what year the photos were taken, or who is in them (I think you’ve all changed your glasses since then). Can you identify them?

There are 30 pictures (all numbered) called “What Do You Remember?”

If you can help me identify who’s in the pictures, please leave a comment here. You can do that by clicking the comments link at the bottom of this post. I’ll update the labels on the photos with the information you supply.

It seems you can’t rely on anything to stay the same these days… and that includes Deepavali.
