A number of members were recognised for more than 30 years of service to the Shrine at our post-Vesak AGM on Saturday, 30th May.

Here they are (I didn’t have good pics of everyone, so apologies for the quality of a couple of them):

  1. Karen Tee Says:

I remembered that my family came to know of “the Moh Hong Shrine” at Blk 66 Commonwealth Drive after a couple of Vesak Day celebrations were held there. At that time, I was in my early secondary school days and my health was quite weak.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank “Master” and “Lord Buddha” for the blessings and had given me a much healthy life as otherwise, I may not be able to do and be what I am today.

Occasionally, I will recalled the 1st time when we (including Doreen, Alice, Daphne)had to kneeled and offered tea to our old teacher(Ah Hee’s father) to learn religious chanting and the first buddhist chant as “nanhai”. He was a very dedicated teacher wih a ‘beautiful voice” and was quite “strict” with us.

One thing that I will also remembered was the religious “procession” with brightly lit “花车” and little pretty flower girls where we walk from Commonwealth Drive to Holland Road. It will be good to share if any of the members had taken any photos.

I could not thank “Lord Buddha” and “Master” enough for all the blessings, spiritual support and kindness shown to me and my siblings over the past 30 over years. I sincerely wish I could contribute more for the “Shrine” but being away from Singapore for the past 20+ years had provided certain constraints except during Vesak Day. I will definitely continue to do do whatever I can for the “Shrine” in one way or another.

I will like to take this opportunity to thank fellow members for the care and concern in the past years and your “pardon” if there is any past unhappiness. I’ve always treasured the “tired” but happy moments during the short time we have when all comes together during Vesak Day once a year.

Once again, my heartfelt thanks to “Lord Buddha” and “Master” for the kind and blessful recognition.
